FBR Demands Rs 200 Billion Notice To Netflix

A tax notice was sent to Netflix, a popular streaming website, by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) asking for Rs. 200 billion in taxes for income generated over the past two years.

Reports say that Netflix earned over Rs 1 billion in Pakistan in 2021 alone due to its increasing group of subscribers. The corporate tax branch in Islamabad sent a notice to Netflix’s Singapore branch; the firm has not yet replied to the letter.

A comprehensive collection of TV series, films, anime, documentaries, and more are available for streaming on various internet-connected devices using Netflix. Netflix users pay between Rs250 and Rs1,100 fixed monthly fees to access material on smartphones, tablets, laptops, Smart TVs, and streaming devices.
