The Punjab Agriculture Department has asked Cotton growers to take extra precautions to safeguard their crops during rainy seasons.

According to a department spokeswoman, the crop may suffer from too much rain.

He clarified that rainwater staying in cotton fields for longer than twenty-four hours can result in serious harm.

To get rid of extra rainwater from their fields, farmers need to make sure that sufficient drainage is in place, the spokesman stressed.
