YouTube new feature lets parents supervise teen accounts

YouTube is launching a new option that will allow parents to connect their accounts with their teenage children by YouTube this week worldwide. This addition will promote safe content development methods and help parents keep tabs on their teens activities. In addition to this, this feature was initially revealed by Google last month.

Now parents can link their accounts through the Family Center on YouTube. They can view shared data such as uploads, comments, and subscriptions. Furthermore, parents will be receiving notifications via email regarding significant events, including freshly uploaded videos or live streams; this will be shared with their linked accounts.

As per YouTube, this is the “first iteration” of its monitoring tools, which are designed to help better monitor teenagers’s activity. Additional features might be introduced later. Moreover, this feature provides “mutual control,”  allowing parents or teenagers to terminate tracking whenever they choose.
