At the finance division, a meeting was held between Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and Mr. Jason Lamb, Deputy Director of Focus Country Implementation of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, for their appreciation of assistance in getting McKinsey &Co. involved in FBR’s continuous digitalization which Federal Minister conveyed.
The CEO Karandaaz, Member Reforms FBR, and Minister of State Mr. Ali Pervaiz Malik were also at the meeting.
The federal minister emphasized the immense potential of e-governance in Pakistan, pointing out that modernizing tax collection by digitization of the tax system is a crucial first step to improve transparency and revenue development.
The finance minister also mentioned the need to improve the current data sources and enhance them to use themmoreefficiently for taxation.
The minister of state, Mr. Ali Pervaiz Malik, discussed the difficulties encountered in implementing Pakistan’s immediate payment system, RAAST, and strategies to enhance its performance.
Everybody in attendance expressed their strong collaborative efforts towards these objectives as the meeting ended.
