In Brussels, the Embassy of Pakistan was thrilled to see the active participation of students from the International School of Brussels (ISB) in the International Festival on July 9, 2024. This annual event, a celebration of diverse cultures worldwide, saw students from 100 different countries showcasing their unique customs.
The Pakistani pavilion stood out at the ISB International Festival, showcasing Pakistan’s unique blend of rich legacy, cultural diversity, tourism, and export potential. The display featured not just pictures, handicrafts, traditional clothing, and antiquities, but also a rich collection of books and documentaries that offered a deep dive into Pakistan’s history and culture.
The Pakistani pavilion was a sensory delight, offering a taste of Pakistan’s diverse cuisine and a chance to experience its traditional art forms. The traditional street food, a culinary journey through Pakistan’s regions, included:
- The aromatic Pakistani chai.
- The sweet and syrupy gulab jamun.
- The savoury samosas.
- The flavorful biryani.
The Henna (Mehndi) area, a hub of artistic expression, offered visitors the opportunity to adorn their hands with exquisite henna patterns, a deeply immersive cultural experience.
The Pakistani pavilion also showcased the country’s passion for sports and its export potential. Sports goods manufactured in Pakistan, including cricket and football uniforms, were on display, drawing significant interest. A lot of kids and parents were excited to snap pictures of the World Cup football, a symbol of Pakistan’s love for the game, that was on show. Ambassador Amna Baloch expressed her satisfaction with the international community’s passion and attention, saying that the festival was a great chance to highlight Pakistan’s hospitality and cultural legacy, as well as its potential in the global sports industry.
