Professor Ahsan Iqbal, federal minister for planning and development, has assured Laptop distribution under PM laptop Scheme and proclaimed the government’s commitment to providing the youth with advanced education, digital training, and equal employment opportunities to prepare them for future challenges.
The Professor highlighted that, in comparison to Pakistan, which has suffered from internal discord and extremism because of political instability and a lack of continued policies, the nations that have fewer resources have surpassed Pakistan because of stabilization in their political systems and continuity of policies.
In addition, the Professor highlighted the Abandonment of visionary long-term plans such as Vision 2010 and Vision 2025. At a Laptop distribution event under PM laptop Scheme at Narowal University, Professor Iqbal criticized the 2018 elections, calling them fraudulent and blaming them for bringing the incompetent government to Pakistan.
He further stated the immense suffering of the 240 million citizens, which caused insignificant damage to the economy of Pakistan. Furthermore, he remarked on the improvement in various sectors and economic ties with different brotherly countries, which include Qatar, UAE, Saudia Arabia, and China, have been revived, which caused the stock market to reach high, and this demonstrated that both the local and global investors trust the government’s plans.
Professor Iqbal highlighted the government’s goal of empowering youth with digital tools to boost Pakistan’s economy, aiming for a top-ten global rank by its 100th anniversary. The plan includes establishing universities in every district and technical institutions to provide technical education for better employment. Laptops are offered on merit under PM laptop Scheme, and easy installment plans are provided for students to purchase if they need more merit.
The Professor also highlighted Islam’s essence of peace and unity when discussing social issues. He promoted embracing diversity while upholding principles of Justice and forgiveness. Iqbal also encouraged students to research and publish articles over obtaining a mere degree while praising the University of Narowal as a model of progress.
Criticizing the past government, the Professor noted the so-called ‘change government’ as destruction, blaming rigid elections and social media propaganda, which poisoned the youth’s minds.
The Professor brought attention to the current government’s effort to restore stability, trust, and growth of the economy. At the University of Narowal event, laptops were distributed among 77 students, and the last Chancellor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Younas Rana, praised Professor Iqbal for their contribution to education and development.
