First PeaceKeepers Day Pakistan
May 29 is a monumental day for PeaceKeepers Day Pakistan as it joins the global community in commemorating International Peacekeepers’ Day. On this significant day, we honor the brave men and women who have selflessly served in United Nations peacekeeping missions worldwide. Pakistan takes pride in its substantial commitment to the UN peacekeeping efforts, with over 3000 peacekeepers now deployed in crisis zones such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, and Somalia.
Pakistan has been a key player in UN peacekeeping operations since 1960, sending an astounding 235,000 troops to serve in 48 missions across 29 nations. The professionalism and dedication of Pakistani peacekeepers reflect our unwavering commitment to helping make the world safer and calmer for everyone.
Sadly, 181 Pakistani troops have lost their lives while performing their duties and responsibilities, which highlights the risks involved in peacekeeping operations.
We pay tribute to and acknowledge the priceless sacrifices and services for our peacemakers’ safety and security, especially those who serve in risky circumstances.
Pakistan’s consistent devotion to maintaining global peace and security can be seen in its long-standing contribution to UN peacekeeping. Our peacekeepers will continue working endless hours to improve their communities and promote stability in conflict-affected areas.
